The South Omaha food pantry at Mission For All Nations has seen need grow partly because of increasing gas prices.Mission For All Nations is a faith-based charitable organization founded to put Love into Action by providing food, clothing, shelter and other necessities to people of all ethnic backgrounds who are in need. We are creating an environment where lives are being changed instead of fostering dependency. Mission For All Nations currently serves nearly 25,000 people each year in our programs.
Our Homelessness and Hunger Prevention program supplies a food pantry order to provide nearly ½ a million meals to 22,500 needy individuals, making it the largest food pantry in the state of Nebraska. In addition to food, we provide clothing, hygiene products, and household items to families in need.

Shirley’s Story
Shirley was unemployed
Shirley was unemployed
When Shirley lost her job it put her family of five in a downward spiral. Her husband works as a bus driver, but only gets a few hours. Shirley just recently got a new job, but the family is still behind due to the previous unemployment. The food and hygiene items “helped me get back on my feet because I will not get another paycheck for three weeks.” Shirley was able to get a week’s supply of food for her family of five along with laundry soap and fabric softener. “You are very generous and nice people,” Shirley said.

Our Personal Note

Dear Friends,

Thanks to all of our wonderful table hosts, donors, and guests for making our Feed a Family Dinner a great event. Last Tuesday night, we had lines waiting outside in the cold for over an hour because we could not fit them in the building. We are serving record numbers of clients like Shirley. We need to make some urgent changes in order to accommodate the increase. Please consider an extra gift at this time. Don’t forget we need 1,200 turkeys and hams for the upcoming holidays as well as about 6,000 gifts for Christmas. Could your church, company, or civic organization participate in a turkey or toy drive? See the enclosed flyer. Make a difference today!

TEXT OF THE MONTH:
Leviticus 25:35

"If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you"
